Teal marble-effect feature wall in a kitchen

The owners wanted the kitchen to feel more designed without replacing units or retiling the whole room. A single vertical wall behind the counter was chosen as the focal point: strong colour, movement in the surface, and a finish that catches the light when you walk in.

The wall was prepared as for any decorative coat - made good, sealed and keyed so the effect would bond evenly. The layout follows the room: one full-height panel between the units and the adjoining white wall, with edges kept crisp around the switch and the worktop line.

The look is built in layers - deep teal and turquoise tones with darker vein detail for a marbled, resin-like depth rather than a flat paint colour. Highlights read as gloss when the under-cabinet and room lighting hit the surface, so the wall works day to day above grey cabinetry and appliances.

Neighbouring walls were left in a simple white so the feature does not overpower a working kitchen. The result is a practical space with one statement wall that ties the room together and photographs well for listing or social use.
